About Me

Hi there! I’m thankful you found your way to my blog. I hope you find it thought-provoking, and even amusing, as I seek to provide my personal, not-so-organized thoughts on the world around us and things happening in my life.

I finished my master’s degree at the George W. Truett Theological Seminary of Baylor University in Waco, TX, in December 2019. I plan to take 2020 to study and prepare for starting a Ph.D. in preaching, hopefully at Truett Seminary. I am married to Shelby Knox Price, who, other than Jesus Christ, has been my rock since we have started dating. She is a great encourager and faithful servant of Christ. I am thankful to our Lord for her each day. We both graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX, Shelby with her B.F.A in Photography, and I hold a B.A in History and a B.A minor in Religion. Presently, we have accepted the call to the First Baptist Church in Mt. Enterprise, Tx, where I am currently serving as the Senior Pastor. We are thankful for them, for their grace, and for God’s provision in our lives.

Concerning this blog, I enjoy theology, politics, books, and, of course, will log events that have happened in our lives. With regard to books, as you will notice on the home page, I am a book reviewer for Moody Press, B&H Publishers (of Lifeway), Baker Academic, InterVarsity Press, and now Hendrickson! I enjoy reading solid, challenging, encouraging theological texts, preaching texts, and spiritual formation books that pertain to my own theology and/or how I view and interact with the theological world around me. I also enjoy reading articles and such on the internet. I am working on responding to certain articles I find intriguing and/or completely disagree with. I find that it is helpful to not only respond to authors of different subjects but to read what they say and to reflect on it.

Occasionally (probably later rather than sooner) I will ask a friend, classmate, and/or fellow minister to “guest” write. I have Jesus-loving, Gospel-driven friends, and for them I am thankful. I hope this blog reflects my, and any other guest author’s, faithfulness to Christ and His calling on the Christian life.

If you need any prayer or would like to know how Jesus Christ can change your life, give me a shout. You can also click on the “Becoming A Christian” link on the homepage.

Grace and Peace,
